Matt Healey, an RPI graduate, has a true passion for gaming, and he is on a mission. To help start-ups create game inserts. His meticulously thought-out designs not only offer the game developer pride in what they have set out to accomplish but the inserts are designed with the idea that setting up the game should be fast and easy.   

Healey has the ability to look at the game as one entity while acknowledging the complexities of the many different components that all need to fit into a finite space, and then create smart inserts. Using Vac-formed plastic, he also works with wood and MDF, however, more recently, has been using punchboard for sustainability.  

 After completing a handful of aftermarket inserts for games such as Adrenaline and Clans of Caldonia, Healey reached out to, and began working directly with Game Creators. His first project with Game Creators was Shiver Me Timbers and has since gone on to create inserts for games such as Frosthaven.   

Through these outlets he is gaining momentum in this niche industry, Healey now focuses his attention on Kickstarter by letting people know he is available to design inserts. To date, he has designed more than 40 inserts for gaming start-ups around the world.  

Healey’s affinity for fun people and challenging games is why he genuinely enjoys creating these inserts. As he says, “We are making games. If it is not fun, why are we doing it?”
